
Namada Weekly Dev Updates - October 20
In a pivotal week for Namada, a new testnet version has been deployed—version v0.23.1, bringing some changes to Public Goods Funding (PGF) error propagation. All validators should upgrade, and here's the kicker: it's a soft-fork, meaning it's fully backwards compatible.

This update tunes up some vital aspects of error propagation in Namada's Public Goods Funding (PGF).

But that's not all. This week, Namada also launched a Community Builders Program, with the Anoma Foundation pledging 10 million NAM tokens for early contributors of this program.
This is an incredible opportunity to shape Namada's mission while receiving early benefits. The 10M NAM allocation will be part of the proposed genesis block for Namada mainnet, serving as an acknowledgment of those who have supported the project from its infancy, including validators active in early public (and private) testnets.

Additional Key Updates:
- The next release will introduce redelegation capabilities for PoS.
- MASP Incentives are now complete, enabling token holders to receive rewards in the MASP pool during the upcoming testnet.
- Thanks to community reporting, multiple fixes have been implemented for IBC queries.
- Governance RPC queries are now robust, with proposal results accurately saved and queryable.
- Signature verification now benefits from enhanced gas calculation.
- Optimizations have been made to replay protection storage to curb storage growth.
- Development has started on PoS rewards, and is slated for completion in version 0.25.0.
Infrastructure:
- Planned for upcoming releases, 0.24.0 and 0.25.0.
- Investigated release CI building for Windows.
- Developing the necessary tools to setup an Ethereum bridge for testnet.
Debugging and Testing:
- Further Proof of Stake testing, including re-delegation.
- Improving inflation calculation for improved MASP incentives in the next release.
- Started work on an initial tool for PGF recipient key generation at genesis.
- Refined and tested Namada Hermes fork for seamless transfers to and from the Cosmos testnet.
SDK Related Developments:
- Ensured SDK functionality with the latest draft.
- Seamlessly utilized the SDK for key derivation.
- Working towards leveraging the SDK for key management in the interface.
UX Enhancements:
- Successfully integrated Ethereum bridge pool transfer events into the Namada interface.
- Finalized enhancements for the Staking page, tailored for testnet usage.
- Completed revisions of the ETH bridge views.
- Redesigned the token send UI.
- Updated the namada-interface README file.
- Resolved CI build issues for browser extensions.
- Improved the gas fee user interface for transactions.
- Successfully unified the gas fees user interface for different transaction types.
Documentation:
- Updated IBC documentation.
- Reviewed and successfully merged PRs pertaining to documentation.
- Updated SDK documentation.
- Worked on ETH bridge documentation
A note to validators:
Validators contributing to Namada's early testnets are highly valued members of the community and are strongly urged to apply to the Community Builders Program so that they can be eligible for the current RPGF round.
